Grand Boulevard

Grand Boulevard, on Chicago's South Side, is one of two community areas that comprise the historic Bronzeville neighborhood. Once a place of prosperity, Grand Boulevard by the middle of the 20th century suffered from physical deterioration, poverty, unemployment and public housing. In recent years, though, the neighborhood has witnessed significant investment in historic homes and businesses. And the Robert Taylor Homes, once the largest, and most troubled, housing project in Chicago, has been dismantled through the Chicago Housing Authority's Plan for Transformation.
